April 2010
For our April meeting,
we were addressed by Suzanne Hudgens, wife of Insurance Commissioner
candidate Ralph Hudgens. Suzanne addressed the group on how involved
she has been throughout Ralph's political career, always being by his
side and of full support in his actions on the campaign trail. She assured
everyone that she was never to be her own candidate, as many have asked
her to run in the vacancy being left by her husband in the State Senate.
March 2010
We
had the pleasure of having Sandra Deal, wife of 9th Congressional Candidate
Nathan Deal, as our speaker for the February meeting. Sandra talked
to us about her involvement in her husband's campaign and what activities
she does on the campaign trail. We were also addressed by Raymond George,
candidate for District Attorney, on his ideas and progress within his
race.
January 2010
At
our January meeting we were pleased to have District Attorney Stan
Gunter come and speak with us regarding his 2010 race for Judge in
the Circuit Court of Appeals. He gave us information on how things were
going on within the Enotah Circuit consisting of Union, Towns, White and

Our
guest speaker will be Col. Oscar Poole author of "There's Only One Oscar
Poole" and founder of Poole's BBQ in Ellijay, GA. Col. Poole will be talking
about his book and his life as an entrepreneur. The meeting is open to
the public.
August 2009
Secretary
of State, Karen Handel was our speaker for the August meeting. Handel
is a candidate for Governor in the upcoming 2010 election. She
will be discussing some of her campaign issues from Education to Water
with her go get them attitude of "Bring 'em on!" Attendees got
to listen to Karen Handel talk about her campaign of what she wants to
do as the next Georia Governor and had lots of questions and discussion.

Our
June speaker was Jenny Stanfield. Those involved in the TEA (Taxed
Enough Already) Parties this past Tax Day may know that Jenny was the
organizer for the Union County are which drew participants from all around
the North Georgia mountains and into North Carolina. Jenny inspired us
all to make a difference in our own lives as Americans. She brought to
our attention some wonderful books out there so that we can educate others
as well as ourselves.

At
our May meeting we were pleased to have David E. Johnson, CEO of Strategic
Vision, LLC. As an overall strategist for publicity and political
campaigns, Johnson is considered an authority in discerning notable trends
and how to appeal to those trends. His polling data has appeared in some
of the leading publications in America and he has been quoted in numerous
publications around the world for his expertise on campaign strategies,
marketing, and public relations trends. He appears on Bloomberg Television,
CNN, CNN Headline News, FOX News Channel, ABC Radio, Radio America, as
well as local and regional radio, and has authored op-eds that have appeared

At
our March meeting we were pleased to have the Chris Scoggins, Executive
Director of The Woman's Enrichment Centers, to come and talk about
the organization. Much was learned about what the two centers have to
offer including pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and educational classes.
The purpose of the center is to reach out to all women with compassion
and care, in all walks of life, giving them accurate and healthy information
and options during normal or crisis pregnancies, and other difficult crossroads.
After our meeting many of us stayed to put together some Easter goodies
for the women who are utilizing the centers to enjoy upon their visits.

We
were fortunate to recently have Kevin Harris, 9th District Chairman,
as our guest speaker in February. Kevin was very informative with not
only how the Republicans are faring within the 9th District, but gave
us great insight on the 2010 Georgia elections that we will soon be focusing

Georgia
Federated Republican Women President, Millie Rogers, was our
monthly speaker for January. Millie enlightened us with what the state
organization was doing, talked with us about the state convention in Savannah,
and answered our questions about our state politics in general. To learn
